'If it wasn't for blood transfusions, I'd have lost my wife'

My partner was experiencing back pain in late-term pregnancy. We decided to go to the hospital. Twenty minutes after arriving she was rushed for an emergency c-section. Due to a sudden catastrophic placental abruption we lost the baby and she lost over 60 percent of her blood in minutes. If it wasn’t for blood transfusions, I’d have lost her too.
