New Zealand Blood Service (NZBS) will be temporarily closing three of its blood donor centres for three business days during the week beginning 22nd April.

With both his sisters, mother and father professionally linked to the health care sector, civil engineer Peter felt like the odd one out, so he became a blood donor to bridge the gap.

While some people wouldn’t necessarily welcome the idea of weighing one or two kilos more, for Fiona, it actually meant she was finally able to fulfil a life-long dream of becoming a blood donor.

Blood donation is a selfless act, and for little Grayson of Waiuku, it was over 100 whole blood donations that assisted him in his battle with a serious blood disorder.

Harriet has been a regular blood donor for over a decade and has saved over 60 lives through her individual donations.
