Amazing Story

Peter's donor story

I was at Police College as a recruit. The mobile blood service came to the Trentham Police College around lunch time. We recruits had been told we had activity that afternoon, which was not classroom based, and was not disclosed. So in thoughtful anticipation I assumed we would be called upon to give blood and I did so straight after lunch. However come afternoon roll call, I discovered that the Blood Service was for the other cadets at the school and not us recruits. We were all going on a 10 km run that afternoon - no excuses - even if I had just given blood. And so I've given blood ever since.
