Amazing Story

Paula gives a different perspective

I have hereditary Haemochromatosis, or Iron overload and I have to have one pint of blood taken off me regularly for the rest of my life to keep my iron levels down. I was only diagnosed with this just over two years ago, as I was suffering with extreme tiredness. Iron overload, (Haemochromatosis) feels just like when a person is anaemic. We have the same symptoms. The nursing staff at the blood clinic are wonderful and you know, it is a pleasure for me to be able to visit the clinic and know that when my blood is taken off me, (venesection) this is able to help others in need.
