For Dean, it's a win win.

I started donating blood in 1999 as I just wanted to do something to help other people. I became a plasma donor in 2001 and then for some I had an extended break from donating in 2003. I started again in 2017 and have been a regular plasma donor ever since donating every two weeks. I am now up to 31 donations and hope, no want, to get to 100. I am busy and find the hour donating plasma good to listen to my music and relax as I don't often have time to sit and relax. Plus it helps people that really need it. Win win.
