Amazing Story

Angela started donating at high school

NZ Blood 300+ Donor 13.06.12 26
I first began giving blood when the mobile unit visited my high school (Manurewa High). It seemed like a bit of a lark to get out of class, give blood and then they even gave you free juice and chocolate biscuits at the end of the experience. Back then I didn't really give much thought to what the donation could potentially mean to someone else, it was all about the chocolate biscuits!! Nowadays I am more mature :) and fully appreciate what it means. Being the universal blood group I try never to miss a donation, and look forward to chatting with the wonderful staff while donating. It's still nice to get a chocolate biscuit at the end, but it's no longer the driving force.
