Blood stocks monitored following Christchurch events

New Zealand Blood Service’s thoughts continue to be with all those affected by the horrific events in Christchurch.

We are monitoring our blood stocks and, if required, will call specific blood group donors in order to ensure blood supplies are maintained.

If you are already an existing donor – we will contact you via our Contact Centre if your blood type is needed.

Alternatively if your blood type is not required due to stocks being healthy and you are already booked to donate, we may ring to ask you to reschedule to a later date to free up appointment slots for the blood groups we require. We thank you in advance for your cooperation on this.

If you are not an existing donor and wish to be contacted – please check your eligibility here and complete this form on our website and we will contact you if further donations are needed.

Should this situation change we will notify all community through our website, Facebook, Twitter and by directly contacting our donor database.

We thank everyone for their offers of support, and we thank all our blood donors who give regularly to ensure blood is always available to those in need.
