Stay hydrated this summer!

Summer has started strong this year with a run of sunny weather across the country. We all know it’s important to stay hydrated during summer but it’s also important to drink plenty of water before you give blood or plasma. When you give blood, your body loses liquid. Drinking water will help your body replenish fluids it has lost. Taking on plenty of fluids in the 24 hours before donating makes it less likely that you will experience any after effects such as feeling dizzy or fainting.

Plus did you know that the better hydrated you are, the quicker your plasma or platelet donation will be? This will leave you more time to get out and enjoy the summer weather!
