Jennifer's Story

In 2006 I had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy. Fortunately I was already in A&E at the Waikato Hospital when it ruptured. I was rushed to theatre where I underwent surgery and needed a blood transfusion. The lovely nurse who was in my room when I woke up told me "you are very lucky, in my country you would have died" I will be forever grateful to the doctors and nurses and I have given blood regularly even since. I feel it is the least I can do especially if it helps to save someones life.
