Amazing Story
Why Manjeet donates
I first donated blood when I was 18 years old in back in India and I learned from my dad to help our communities if we can. I didn’t know much about blood donations at the time, but I knew that I could potentially save a life by giving my blood, and so I did to save lives.
After that first donation I started donating regularly. I came to NZ in 2019 for my studies and I looked up for blood donation places in NZ and I found NZ Blood Epsom. I would eventually come to find out that I am part of a rare blood group in NZ and that there aren’t many of us in Auckland. If I were to ever need a blood transfusion, this group of people would probably be the ones to help me out and vice versa, so I knew I had to keep donating regularly.
The more I donated, the more I started to understand just how important it is to give. So many people need these donations!. Donating plasma and helping our communities motivates me and brings positive energy in me. I try to stay on top of donations and encourage my friends and family to do so as well. Hopefully, we can bring those numbers up.
