Why Arul donates blood

While working for Waikato DHB, I received an email from the communications team that the blood bank was short of blood and are desperately looking for donors. This was a perfect opportunity for me to contribute and give it back to society. Initially, I was a bit scared and clueless, but the nurses at NZBS took good care of me and instilled confidence, which is a must for first-time donors. I intended to donate once, but when I got to know the importance of my blood group, i.e. O -ve I ensured I made it a habit and donated whenever possible.

After ten years, I have donated blood more than 26 times and recently roped in my work colleague to form "Team Red".
