James is a platelet donor

I gave blood very infrequently for years then having travelled became disconnected from NZ Blood. In 2012 a young man working for me needed further chemo and asked that we do a blood drive and everyone test to donate platelets. We had 120+ people donate in one day, and I was one of only two eligible for platelets. I feel both proud and privileged to be able to contribute in a small way, and I encourage everyone to test even if you don't donate that way very often.
