Trish is giving back

You wake after a major operation and freak out seeing someone's blood flowing into your body. You are told you haemorraged in theatre and have been given 2 units of blood.
Why didn't I donate my blood so it was available. My father and sister were donors. But we are so lucky we have such robust testing of blood here in NZ, I was lucky this was available for me. This event started me as first a whole blood donor and now a plasma donor to give back what someone gave to me.
