Amazing Story
Former donor Lesley is now a volunteer
I've been a donor for a very long time - about 58 years. I started when I worked in the Chief Post Office in Dunedin where we had a very active Industrial Nurse who used to call us regularly. We had to walk the length of the main street to do our bit and it was a morning off work!! I think that was the original reason why we began donating but the good feeling developed as we grew a little more mature and since then I've been a regular donor and unfortunately my next donation will be my last as I've grown too old!! I've enjoyed my donor career and am now a volunteer in the tearoom in Dunedin where I keep an eye on donors and I enjoy doing that, especially since we've got our new rooms in Crawford Street. I've seen the service move round various parts of Dunedin and now they have service built facilities, it's so good for staff as well as donors.
