Amazing Story

Max received a transfusion when he was born

NZ Blood 300+ Donor 13.06.12 26
I was born in 1950 as a premature rhesus baby. I was 3 lbs at birth and was taken from Waitara Maternity Annex in a shoe box. I was in an incubator for 2 months.

I'm alive today because a lovely Maori nurse donated her blood for me when I needed an urgent transfusion. As a result of that I always intended becoming a donor and have given blood since my early twenties. I am now 68 and fit and well and still donating.
