Amazing Story

Diane knows the importance of blood donation

NZ Blood WBD 2011 330
Like most people I had never really given too much thought about blood donation until my husband became ill with lymphoma. Throughout the course of his treatment and subsequent bone marrow transplant he received countless blood and platelet donations. We are truly thankful to these anonymous people who saved his life.

Visiting him in hospital each day also brought me into contact with people who were in much worse situations - some incurable, some terminal, some with young families and money worries.

Donating blood seemed the logical and tangible way to help.
