Amazing Story

Why Michael chooses to donate blood

Back in the 90s I was about to embark on some massive changes. I had been having problems chewing food and eating badly due to an underbite probably with my jaw that had occurred when I was growing up. It got to point where braces didn't work and I required maxillary facial surgery. The surgeon I used said it would be best for my recovery if I was to use my own blood for the operation. He found out that I was O Negative and said that I would be a great candidate for giving blood. For a number of years I able to give blood for babies and infants and now I am only able to give for emergencies.
I have enjoyed giving blood and at times have thought about the 3 people I will be helping with each donation I give. I also given just after my my tetanus injection which can be used to create more antibodies.

I hope to give more and more in the future

Thank you
Michael Hindmarsh
