AB Negative blood type is very rare which means regular donations may not be needed.  However life saving plasma donations from people with your blood type are in high demand.

Plasma is used to save people who have lost a lot of blood and help boost the immune systems of people who are sick or have had major operations. If you are eligible to be a plasma donor you can donate every two weeks.

Plasma donations are special and are only possible to certain locations in New Zealand including: Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Palmerston North, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin.
