Reference Laboratory provides a wide range of services including the following:
- Confirmation of antibodies referred by testing laboratories
- Investigation of antibody problems and provision of cross-matched blood
- Provision of phenotyped blood
- Resolution of ABO and Rh(D) typing problems
- Investigation of positive direct antiglobulin tests / cases of autoimmune haemolytic anaemia
- Investigation of haemolytic disease of the newborn
- Monitoring levels (by titration) of antibodies found during routine antenatal screening
- National Immunohaematology Quality Assurance Programme (NIQAP)
- Medical and scientific advice.
